Over the years, Kiev has turned into a valuable center and a place of interest for most East European countries

Trip to Chernigov.

Chernigov is rich an ancient and historical sights. Here is the fact that speaks for itself: the city has preserved one quarter of all architectural monuments of Ukraine of the pre-Mongol period. Most of them are situated in the Old City that lies on the bank of the Desna and is called Val.

DAY 2. 03.05 Friday.

Sight-seeing tour with the guide in the city.

1. St. Sofia square

You will be able to see one of the central and most picturesque areas of Kiev. Here is located St. Sophia Cathedral with a great bell tower and the monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky. St. Sophia Cathedral was built in 1037 and is under UNESCO protection.

2. St. Michael Golden Domed Monastery

St. Michael Golden Domed Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries of Kiev to see. The fame to the main temple of the monastery - St. Michael's Cathedral brought its mosaics and frescoes. According to art historians, mosaics and frescoes of St. Michael's Cathedral have opened a new type of painting in the evolution of ancient Kievan Rus. In 1935 the cathedral was destroyed and rebuilt in the second half of the 90s of the 20th century.

3. Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

Visit to Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra monastery that was founded in the 11th century. Its construction lasted for 9 centuries. The monastery complex makes a great impression even today. Especially well known are the underground caves of the monastery. On any given day numerous domes can be seen from almost anywhere in Kiev. Most of the buildings of the Monastery were built in the 17-18th centuries. Here you will also visit the Unique Museum of Miniatures. You will see the work of one artist who used microscopes to create incredible pieces of art.

4. House with Chimeras

On the street Bankova you will see house number 10 built (House with Chimeras) in the beginning of 20th century for the architect Vladislav Gorodetsky. The facade of the Chimerian House is decorated with images of mythical animals, in hunting and plant motifs. The structure is made in the style of "modern".

5. Mariinsky Palace

You will visit Mariinsky Palace that was built in the late 17th century by Rastrelli. The Palace is located in the park bearing the same name. In the palace are held solemn state events - awardings, receptions, meetings of official delegations and the palace bears the title of being the "presidential" palace.

6. Golden Gate

You will see Golden gate is the main gate of ancient Kiev. They were reconstructed during the construction of St. Sophia Cathedral. In the late 17th century the front gate had still parts of the fortifications, but in the middle of the 18th century they were destroyed and covered with earth. The gates "came to life" for the first time in 1832 during excavations, and were completely renewed in 1982.

7. Independence Sqare

You will see the Independence Sqare (Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Ukrainian) that is the central square of Kiev. In 1991, the area received the status of being the principal one, and is named after Ukraine gained independence.

8. Mother Motherland

Statue of the Mother Motherland is the center of the National Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, established in Kiev on the Dnipro slopes. The height of Mother Motherland statue exceeds the height of the monument to the Statue of Liberty in America. The Motherland statue from the pedestal to the tip of the sword reaches 62 meters and the total height with the pedestal is 102 meters! In one hand she holds a 16-meter, 9-ton sword, in the other - a shield the size of 13.8 m and weighing 13 tons with a coat of arms of the Soviet Union. The frame of the monument begins at 17.8 m, where it goes further into a concrete well with a diameter of 34 m. The whole construction is fully welded and weighs 450 tons!

Free time in the Andrew's Descent - a historic descent connecting Kiev's Upper Town neighborhood and the historically commercial Podil neighborhood. The descent, totaling 720 meters (2,360 ft) in length, The Andriyivskyi Descent contains numerous historic attractions and museums. The 18th century baroque Saint Andrew's Church; the late 19th century Mikhail Bulgakov's house-museum; the 20th century Castle of Richard the Lionheart; the Museum of One Street. You can visit a lot of art galleries over thee and find numerous souvenirs to buy.

The second part of the day dedicated to a wonderful voyage.

The local ship will take you to a picturesque trip along the Dnepr river, you will definitely enjoy having your time on board of the boat while watching breathtaking banks of the Dnepr river with golden domes, parks and modern part of the city.

On the board you will see the bright concert in a national folklore style. You will enjoy from national Ukrainian songs and could also dance national dances together the artists.

Transfer to the airport finishes this bright and unforgettable day.
